It is an inherited condition that his mother, grandmother and aunt had.
After his aunt’s death, it was his job to take on the role of “GRIMM” and protect the world. This means he must kill the creatures sometimes. However, during his quest, he makes friends with two of them. He also finds out that his family history isn’t what it seems. Some members of his family are still alive.
While he is protecting the humans, his partner and his girlfriend are unaware of his true identity. They are also unaware of the creatures that live among them. This is another goal Nick has. This is the goal to protect them from harm and from the truth of his identity. Each week, new creatures enter his life. Many of these creatures have one goal in mind: to kill the Grimm.
